Throws

Seishin Freestyle Karate employs throws which originate in Jiu Jitsu.

osotogari O Soto Gari – outer reaping throw. Usually proceeded by a knee strike to the body leg or groin.
tai_otoshi Tai otoshi is a hand throw that should generate a lot of power with very little contact. It can create one of the hardest falls in judo, yet it relies on timing and kuzushi( 崩し:くずし a Japanese term for unbalancing an opponent in the Japanese martial arts.) rather than lifting. The power comes from a fast rotating action that drives uke right into the mat. It is a very common throw, but one which must be studied thoroughly to have any chance of using it successfully on a resisting opponent.
deashibarai De Ashi Bari

This Ashi waza (Foot / leg techniques) is a high-level foot technique which requires perfect timing.

The De-ashi-barai (-harai) (Forward foot sweep)  consists of sweeping the opponent’s feet out from under him, and then throwing him down on his side.

Even when unsuccessful, this Waza will often destabilize the opponent, offering the opportunity to transition to another Waza.

ogoshi The O-goshi (Large hip throw) consists of throwing the opponent over your hip and on to the floor.
koshiguruma  Koshi-guruma (Hip wheel)  Tori wraps an arm around the back of Uke neck and brings him onto the back of his hip, then spins like a wheel to throw him.
seoi-nage Seoi Nage

This technique consists of bringing your opponent against your back, and then throwing him over your shoulder.
